Speakeasy Mobile Lounge
Private Mobile Hospitality Environment
Commissioned by: Star Trolley, LLC
Location: St. Petersburg, Florida
Originally configured as a high-capacity transit vehicle, this project was commissioned by Star Trolley, LLC and reengineered into a fully immersive mobile hospitality environment. The concept draws inspiration from a 1920s speakeasy, translating the character of that era into a contemporary mobile setting through material selection, lighting, and spatial composition.
The objective was to eliminate the visual and functional identity of traditional passenger transport and replace it with a space designed for social interaction, entertainment, and premium guest experience. The transformation prioritizes spatial flow, atmosphere, and operational functionality, introducing a perimeter-based lounge layout centered around a fully integrated bar system. A full wrap, Art Deco–inspired color palette reinforces the identity of the space, creating a cohesive environment that operates as a true mobile venue rather than a modified vehicle.
Project Specifications
Original Platform: 44-passenger transit bus with forward-facing row seating
Converted Capacity: 25–27 passengers (perimeter lounge configuration)
Vehicle Length: 39 ft flat-nose bus
Interior Layout: Full perimeter seating with central circulation aisle
Bar Integration: Built-in wet bar with storage, service surface, and electrical integration
Ceiling Height: Approx. 6.4 ft interior clearance
Climate Control: Dual-zone air conditioning (front and rear systems)
Lighting Design: Ambient and accent lighting engineered for low-light lounge atmosphere
Audio System: Integrated sound system optimized for music and karaoke use
Material Direction: Art Deco–inspired finishes, warm tones, and layered textures
Flooring: Upgraded commercial-grade flooring replacing original transit materials
Use Case: Private events, nightlife experiences, corporate entertainment
